Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy offers a wide range of benefits by providing a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with a trained professional. It can help individuals gain insight into patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, while teaching practical coping strategies to navigate life’s difficulties more effectively. Beyond symptom relief, psychotherapy promotes self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier communication, empowering people to make intentional choices aligned with their values. Over time, it can foster personal growth, improve mental well-being, and enhance overall quality of life, making it a valuable tool for both managing challenges and achieving long-term psychological health.

Isabella Fawcett

Psychotherapist

Hi there! My name is Izzy and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a strong commitment to creating a therapeutic space where clients are seen in their best light, supported without judgment, and met with compassionate, person-centered care. My work is grounded in trauma-informed practice and draws on interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I bring extensive experience supporting vulnerable populations and working within developmental services, including my role as an ABA therapist at LACS prior to completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Since transitioning into the psychotherapy domain, I have focused on providing thoughtful, adaptable care rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and human connection. I approach each client with openness and respect, tailoring support to their unique needs and strengths.

Psychotherapy at LACS may involve:

  • Individual sessions for verbal children, youth, and adults to process grief, trauma, social skills, executive functioning, self regulation skills, etc.
  • Parent sessions to discuss new diagnoses, behaviours, parenting a child with a disability
  • Couples sessions to discuss the joys, stresses, and navigation of raising a child with a disability
  • Sibling sessions to process being a sibling of a person with a disability
